Your first video
This walks through one chat, from an empty project to a video you can download. It works the same in Claude and ChatGPT. You say each step in your own words; the quotes are only examples.
-
Start a project. Ask: “Make a new Cardboard project called Trip.”
-
Bring in your footage. Ask: “Open the upload card.” A card opens in the chat. Pick video clips or photos on your device, and the card shows each one as it uploads.
To bring in a video from a link instead, paste the link and ask for it to be added to the project.
-
Ask for the edit. For example: “Cut these into a 30-second video, best moments first.” The assistant reads the project, makes the edit and checks it by looking at frames of the result.
-
Watch it. A player appears in the chat with the edit. It plays the preview as soon as it’s ready.
-
Keep going. “Add a title at the start that says Day One.” “Give it a warmer look.” “Put the beach shot last.” Every change gets its own player, and “Undo that” goes back one edit.
-
Export. Ask: “Export it.” A long edit takes a few minutes. When it’s done, the player in the chat offers the download: a 1080p MP4.
Coming back later
Section titled “Coming back later”Projects are saved to your Cardboard account. In a new chat, ask “Show my Cardboard projects” and pick one, or name it: “Open my Trip project and show me the latest preview.”
