You need a Cardboard account. You can sign up at cardboard.ai.

  1. In ChatGPT, open Plugins and find Cardboard.
  2. Choose Connect, sign in to your Cardboard account in the window that opens, and allow ChatGPT access.
  3. In a chat, type @Cardboard, pick it, and ask for an edit.
  1. In ChatGPT, open Plugins, then Add, then Add custom MCP server.
  2. Name it Cardboard, enter the server URL above, confirm you trust it, and choose Create.
  3. Choose Connect, sign in to your Cardboard account, and allow ChatGPT access.

The first time Cardboard opens its upload card, ChatGPT asks whether to allow it. Choose Always allow to skip the question next time.

ChatGPT gets every tool in the tools reference, plus these, which make new media with a hosted model. Claude’s address leaves them out.
