Cardboard in Claude and ChatGPT

Cardboard is a video editor you use by chatting with Claude or ChatGPT. You bring in your footage, say what you want in plain words, and every edit plays in the chat. When it looks right, the assistant exports the video for you to download.

Cardboard is an MCP server: the standard way Claude and ChatGPT connect to other apps. Add it to the one you use.

You need a Cardboard account. You can sign up at cardboard.ai.

  • Upload video clips and photos from your computer or phone, or bring in a video from a link.
  • Cut, trim and reorder clips.
  • Add titles.
  • Change the look of your footage, such as its color.
  • Watch every edit play in a player in the chat.
  • Export the finished video as a 1080p MP4.
  • Come back to a project in a later chat: projects are saved to your Cardboard account.

What you can do also depends on your Cardboard plan. See plans and pricing.

The assistant signs in to your Cardboard account and calls Cardboard’s tools when you ask for an edit. Cardboard does the work in its cloud, on your projects, and shows the result in a player in the chat. The assistant never gets your Cardboard password, and Cardboard never sees your conversation, only the tool calls the assistant makes.
